SEO Writing Tip - How To Avoid STOP Words

SEO Writing Tip - How To Avoid STOP Words | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

Better SEO Writing

Just Scooped a great #infographic about SEO Writing that didn't mention some of my favorite tips or anything about "stop words" so I added 5 tips to the Scoop and wrote a quick ScentTrail Marketing post about Stop Words:

15 SEO Writing Tips (10 Infographic, 5 from me)

SEO Writing - Eliminate Stop Words (ScentTrail Marketing)

There is great news about the elimination of stop words. When you tune your writing to use shorter sentences, smaller paragraphs and reduces stop words your copy reads faster and so becomes more engaging. Win Win.

I sometime write long sentences; so when I saw these tips about the elimination of STOP words, I had to Scoop this.

Thanks for the Rescoop Kathy. Shortening your sentences, more Hemingway than Faulkner, can have positive impacts on SEO and visitor engagement. Marty

Connect with Your Creative Writer

Connect with Your Creative Writer | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

Do you have to complete a piece of writing but are putting it off? A report, a blog article, or a letter? Are you finding that the moment you sit down to write, your mind seems to go blank? Crap! Writers block! What can you do about it?

Although, the term writers block is popular, this feeling of blockage and mind blanking is not specific to writing, but of any creative feats. Other examples include, brainstorming for a new business, dancing, musical performances, music composition, painting or photography. I’ve personally experienced this during my photography work, blanking out as I stand in front of a client waiting for me for direction. I call these Creative Blocks, where your mind just comes up empty and you feel lost. It’s purely mental.

Through practice and observation, I’ve gotten pretty good at getting past these blank moments, and this article shares some insights for unlocking your creativity. Throughout the article, I will be using writing as the example, but keep in mind that it is equally applicable to any creative activity.

Great Content Curators See Patterns Others Don't So Curation Is Highly Disruptive

Great Content Curators See Patterns Others Don't So Curation Is Highly Disruptive | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it
What Is Content Curation Curation is an active filtering of the web’s infinite content and it may be the most disruptive Internet marketing tactic. Curators do more than simply assign meta value via categorization.

Disruptive & Exploding Content Curation
Wish I could tell you I plan to write sentences that will resonate and define something like content curation in a helpful way. The plan is to LOVE what I do and want to share it as often and as many ways as possible almost everything after that is accident (lol).

Content curation is about to explode. It has too, as Scoop.it's CEO Guillaume noted a good argument could be made that all content that ever needs to be created already has. This means the shift is to the curators.

I read something attributed to uber-curator Maria Popova. She supposedly said each time an Internet marketer uses the word "curator" real curators kill a kitten. Popova was being dramatic, but I take her point.

Our "curation" is digital curation - the active filtering, theming and organizing of a monster fire hose of content pointed at all of us. Our ability to read and make sense of the world may mean we are all "curators". A contemporary life requires curation.

Wish I could plan my day to create another piece of content as well received and helpful as this Curatti.com post, but it doesn't work that way. Better to focus on digging the ditch that needs digging than worrying too much about "viral marketing" or "legacy" content (is my thinking :). M

Content Creators, Here’s Why You Need to Be A Google Author

Content Creators, Here’s Why You Need to Be A Google Author | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

I've been reading a lot about the Google Author programme and AuthorRank this week, so I curated a post covering

*why content creators need to set up their profile

*and how to do it.

In a nutshell, not only does it make you stand out in search results, but it seems that Google is going to take authorship increasngly into account in search results.

It's not difficult to set up, especually if you have a one-person blog. There are loads of tutorial around to help even for more complex blogs and websites.

If you create any kind of content, I recommend you do it if you haven't already done so.

Content Marketing Is Not As Simple As Writing A Ton of Blog Posts Every Day

Content Marketing Is Not As Simple As Writing A Ton of Blog Posts Every Day | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

The classic sales funnel has long been used to describe website development strategy.

However, the deployment of content marketing in a sales funnel with a campaign focus is a relatively new concept to many.

It’s not as simple as writing lots of blog posts every day and distributing them on social channels.

In fact, the goal of strategic content marketing should be to identify, qualify, segment, score and, ultimately, close leads in an accelerated and predictable fashion.

In order to strategically deploy content marketing it requires the right software, a defined sales funnel and a campaign structure.

Segments are usually FINANCIAL measures such as VIPs or "multi-buyers". Segments is one way to quantify groups within your marketing. Personas are another. Personas identify archetypes and group characteristics (instead of financial segments). Personas help develop creative segments make sure you make money.
