It's great to see a crowdfunding (crowdsource funding) site for Education! Have a look and see if your education or training activities might benefit from such funding or at least the exposure to this community online.

3 S’s of Successful Content Marketing [Infographic + Marty Note]

3 S’s of Successful Content Marketing [Infographic + Marty Note] | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

Content's Many Audiences
When you create content you need to think about who will be its eventual consumer. Do you know who and why your content will be consumed by? Not ever and not nearly.

What you do know is you need some content for search engine spiders, the only one guaranteed to read every word on your pages (lol). You also need short attention span and mobile theater. Think of a smart phone as a game console and you wouldn't be too far wrong.

Finally you need content that springs legs and walks around the world. My advice is to NOT plan for consumption as much as general content characteristics. Search engines love LONG form content. Users love graphics and short attention span theater.

Mobile users want instant gratification and to easily file for later. Rich snippets work great on mobile, will leave search engines wondering what the heck you are up to and may or may not go viral.

Do you need all three kinds of content: long form, rich snippets and games for mobile and viral content? Sure, and DO make sure you create all three, but don't limit where you publish.

Always test everything everywhere. If you have a rich snippet go viral then write a blog post and create some more weight for SEO and to promote viral. If you have long form go viral cut it up and tweet it.

Don't get MARRIED to the idea that X content goes into Y channel. Be flexible, test everything and COPE (Create Once and Publish Everywhere).

Flickr Adds Pinterest Buttons To Photo Sharing

Flickr Adds Pinterest Buttons To Photo Sharing | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

Chas Begley: Tech Crunch is reporting that Flickr has announced a partnership with Pinterest to add a share button to its site.

The button will solve the problem of pictures being pinned from Flickr without proper attribution to the copyright holder. Now any image shared from Flickr will be attributed with the photographer’s name, the title and a link to the photo page. Any Flickr image that is embedded on another website and pinned from there will now link directly to the original image on Flickr rather than the embedded site.

Photo owners will still have the options to prevent the sharing of their image it they choose.

The news is the latest in a series of moves by Pinterest to address the copyright issue and the problem of correct attribution. It is also indicative of Pinterest entering the mainstream life of the web with Pin It buttons also appearing recently on eBay and Amazon.

Internet Marketing - Future Is About The Share

Internet Marketing - Future Is About The Share | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

2 Examples of The Share
The future of Internet marketing will be about The Ask, The Give, The Share and The Commons Revolution. Here are two examples of the power of the share.

One example, created on the base of a failed contest, increased Pinterest followers 636%. Another turned a free fall in members of The Marketing Revolution's Scoop.it feed around and increased followers by 200%.

Great benefits, but the GAIN is only half the story. Gains were made even as input and so content creation costs were cut. What is the value of increasing the value of your content marketing even as you lower costs?

The POWER of the Share.

Sharing | Content Scraping

Sharing | Content Scraping | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

MC: "Share" is the verb that most use to describe the Web of our days.

Through different ways (site, blog, forum, etc...), we create content, share them and make them shareable, but sometimes they are exploited by other.

Has it ever happened that your content were exploited for you? Could you write your experience?

Robin Good: Excellent guide by Neil Patel on how to combat and fight back against content scrapers.

If you produce valuable content on your web site, there may be other sites out there taking advantage of it without you realizing it, by "scraping" your original feed and republishing it under their own terms and without attribution and link back to your original. And they may even rank higher than you inside Google search results.

To find out how to investigate, identify, block and report whoever attempts to do this without your own consent, I highly recommend reading this guide.

Informative. Resourceful. 8/10
